Yorkshire Cup Final Curtain-Raiser
Although a trophy was presented, this was not a competition as such. Associations were invited in turn to provide the teams. As the match was usually played early in the season, the previous season's Under 11 sides were chosen, until 1990, when the current Under 13s were selected. The matches ran from 1976 (the season after an Under 11 competition was introduced) until 1992, the last year the Yorkshire Cup Final was played.
The 1980 match was cancelled due to poor ground conditions, so the same teams were given the chance to play as Under 13s in 1981.

Steven Mullaney Memorial Trophy
This early-season Under 13 tournament - played at 13-a-side, except for the last two years when it was played at 10-a-side - was organised by Wakefield SRL and the parents of Steven Mullaney, who died in a road accident only months after starring in the Wembley Cup Final curtain-raiser in 1986. Associations across the north were invited to take part, thus Salford became the only Lancashire side to win a Yorkshire trophy. The tournament ran for seven years.

Named in memory of the Castleford Schools' RL prop, who died after collapsing in the Dennis Davies Final (for the Under 15 national cup) in 1995-96.
The Gavin Williams Trophy was awarded to the Yorkshire Champions at Under 15, from 1997-98 to 2000-01.
Peter Dawson Trophy
Named after the Yorkshire SRL Secretary, who passed away in 2000. Peter had been headteacher at East Ardsley PS and a founding member of Morley SRL; he also served as chairman of ESRL, YSRL and H&MSRL,
The Peter Dawson Trophy (for an Under 13 knock-out competition) was only competed for for one season (2000-01); Castleford beat Leeds & Hunslet in the final by 16 points to 10.
Yorkshire Post Sporting Chance "Nines"
Sponsored by Yorkshire Water, this competition was played for three years by Under 12 boys' school sides. During the second year a girls' competition was introduced, also at Under 12, although it was played at Under 13 the following year.
