Leeds & Hunslet Schools' Rugby League
Internationals
The first English Schools' Rugby League international match took place in November 1967, against France in Perpignan, at Under 15 age-level. When the next international was played, at Easter 1972, it was at Under 16 level. For two years (1999 and 2000) the national side was known as "Great Britain and Ireland". After a few heavy defeats for the French, England fielded an Under 15 side in 2001 and 2002. In 2003, due to policy changes regarding age-groups, the ESRL Under 15s played a Welsh Schools' side, before reverting to Under 16 against France in 2004.

Although inter-town and inter-county competitions were disbanded from 2001, the Under 16 national side continued to be branded as "English Schools' Rugby League" until 2009. From 2010 the side has been known as "England Youth" and often boys' schools are not acknowledged on team lists, despite the fact that many players have represented their schools in champion schools tournaments.

The lists below include not only test match players, but also boys who played in games against French regional or town teams, as well as players selected for the national squad who missed out due to injury or illness.
